Electrical Company

The Challenge:

Poppy's original website needs an overhaul to appeal to more clients and boost business. With how it is currently, many strong contrasting colors draw the eye around the screen and not the crucial factors that a customer would want when looking for an electrician. The graphics on the landing page do not provide any supportive role and are placed very tightly with the text on the main page. Additionally, there is no clear logo representing what Poppy's is and what they do.

The Design Process

My process began with figuring out the target audience for the site, and what their most common needs and wants for visiting the site would be.

Using user personas as research (see below), it was determined that a contact form would be the most prominent feature that should be highlighted, with an additional outline of the phone number in the header. To give a friendlier and cleaner look, I removed the black background and made blue the most prominent color, with a red dominant logo to keep with the original site's patriotism. After that, it was a process of keeping their information flowing efficiently and moving elements around to fix the original's cluttered nature.
